Judicial Opening Announced
Solicitation of Public Comment

The Tenth Judicial District Judicial Nominating Commission will convene November 21, 2014 to interview and select nominees for submission to the Governor to fill one district judge vacancy due to the retirement of The Honorable James Franklin Davis.

Interested persons may obtain nomination forms by downloading the District Judge Application form, or contacting the Clerk of the Johnson County District Court, or Clerk of the Appellate Court, or at www.kscourts.org.

An original and 15 copies of the nomination form and supporting documents will be considered if received by the Office of the District Attorney, 5th Floor, Johnson County Kansas, 100 N. Kansas Ave, Olathe, KS 66061, no later than noon, October 24th, 2014. Forms cannot be accepted by fax or on-line.

The 10th Judicial District Judicial Nominating Commission is made up of 14 members. Seven are attorneys elected by the Kansas licensed attorneys residing in the district, and 7 are non-lawyers appointed by the Johnson County Board of County Commissioners.

The Nominating Commission welcomes and encourages public input into this important process.
